Hello! Fountains do not stack, if a tower is nearby more than one fountain it only gets a single multiplier (it chooses the best multiplier out of all of the nearby fountains).
This was pretty fun, though I feel like the mobs didn't give you enough money. Specially towards the end when they were so damn spungy. I had to turn the difficulty down to easy on the last few levels... though I'm not 100% sure that actually did anything?
Turning difficulty down lowers the health of enemies, so it should have a good effect at making waves easier to clear.
One thing I notice about your tower setup is that you have a ton of fire and water towers. These towers are good at igniting enemies and slowing them down, but are not the most powerful in terms of raw damage output. I recommend experimenting with different towers to see if you can get an easier time. The stone and tesla towers can be particularly useful for raw damage output, depending on the situation.
You can also see that a lot of the walls were bare, that's because as the final boss continued, I would sell towers and upgrade the ones further along. I did experiment with the Tesla coils and the grid but they just don't seem to do enough damage. Looking at the stone block on a chain now.
I am loving this game! Great little tower defense, cool towers, satisfying enemy waves. I've beaten it on Harder a couple times, now. Endless mode on Harder difficulty is *HARD*. I can't get past the Slime King no matter what combination of towers I try to use! Any tips?
HA! I had to burn all my clovers right at the beginning to get enough damage output with max level Stones but this build was able to burn through the first 15 waves! I'm sure I won't last much longer though ;)
edit: Got Centurion too! Magma + Maxed Stones + lots of Boulders seems to be a nasty combo for a lot of bosses.
Nice! Yeah Hard-mode with endless is definitely a real challenge with the adjusted enemy health levels, I usually enjoy starting with Earth+Water to get the benefit of the slow from the splash tower, and the ice tower can be critical to get through some of the swarmy waves.
Here's my most recent setup I used to beat king slime without any clovers!
Well, I think I just about capped out what I could accomplish on this run without re-thinking my strategy. I bet I will revisit this and see if I can beat Mother++++ with a different layout sometime... Suffice to say, fun game!
The death animation is procedural instead of a set sprite sheet. A script reads the pixels from the enemy image, and spawns a particle for each pixel into a standard Unity particle system. It was very helpful to save time!
Beat it on hard it was fun. Also beat it with focus on mesh towers, very fun. You got something special here friend, I probably put in like 10 hours already lol lost count how many times I beat the game.
That's so good to hear! Glad you have enjoyed it so much!
I am definitely planning on expanding the game some more, possibly with some new maps, maybe an endless mode. As someone who's played through it many times, what kinds of things do you think you would be most interested in seeing?
Pixel graphics and balanced mechanics really sold me, so anything else is extra. I feel the best thing about the game is the very well crafted pixel graphics. Second is the elements, it feels fun to mix them and such. Reminds me of magic the gathering.
I'm interested in rpg elements myself, critical hits, or towers having a kill count where random stats increase depending on how many monsters they have defeated.
Or an item shop that has speed/range items to more personalize individual towers would be cool and add a ton of replayability.
Mesh Tower can basically deal with all waves except Father and Mother. Ultra powerful against hordes (combined with EMP) not so great vs Bosses. I wanted to do only mesh run but cannot find a way yet. With fountains I'm sure it will work but I only want green on my screen, NO BLUE.
Oh friend, I would like to say it would be cool to make a free mode, where money is infinite. I would love to play around with crazy combinations. I play on easy usually so I can try all types of combinations. So fun, love it. Here is a pic on one of my runs, I like the stone towers as well. I try my best to keep it symmetrical but oh well.
So glad you are enjoying yourself! I definitely plan a major update to this game in the future with more features, like and endless mode, and a free mode!
In the meantime though, if you type the phrase 'secretcode' you can unlock the dev console, which gives you access to many powers. But keep it a secret ;)
LOOOOVE this game, beat like 5 times already. Not on hard yet though. I love the mesh tower but I can't seem to optimize its power. I keep trying to do like a only 2 tower run type of thing and I find it so hard towards the end it never works out. Has anyone done that yet.
The mesh tower is one of my favorites! But it has also been the most challenging to balance as well haha. I find that I usually need at least 3 before they come into their full power, if I can make a triangle and get a lot of coverage. But they are not the best against hardy enemies with armor..
I think doing a run with limited towers/tower types would be a great idea for a challenge-mode in a new update!
Speaking of that, I almost beat it with only water towers today, well I didn't try all that hard to delete the rest. Very close to doing an energy only run. But it do be hard.
I ran into a bug where after upgrading a Bomb Tower that covers the entrance as well as the exit, the tower keeps firing at the exit even though there are only monsters entering from the entrance. Very strange.
Ah that is intentional actually! I found it tricky to balance otherwise, since the number of connections can grow so quickly, it ends up being super overpowered
This is a wonderful tower defense game. It shows the perfect balance between rewarding and difficult waves, whilst also giving many different options for towers and strategy. It would be nice to have an "autoplay" feature for the waves. 9/10
Glad you enjoyed it! There is actually an auto-play feature you can turn on in the settings menu! and you can also right-click the next-wave button as a shortcut.

Quick question, do the fountains stack? Like if I a tower is connected to a number of fountains do they get the multiple bonuses, or is it just 1?
Hello! Fountains do not stack, if a tower is nearby more than one fountain it only gets a single multiplier (it chooses the best multiplier out of all of the nearby fountains).

I had lots of fun with this game, my max level was 75 with nanobot boss, does the game have an ending ?
Level 75 is the final level. Once you beat it you should get an end-credits sequence, and unlock endless mode!
Absolutely one of my favorite games!! love it
maaaaan. im actually willing to pay money if you can export this to desktop. kinda tired of when i click elsewhere on the pc it stops(i play at work)
amazing game btw
Oh it's actually pretty easy for me to make a PC build, happy to upload that to the page as well :)
Glad you are enjoying it!
that would be awesome!(+i could play when theres no internet)
Ok, PC version has been uploaded! Should be identical to the Web Version, let me know if it gives you any trouble!

Glad you are having fun!
And finally, beat Mother in Endless on Harder! It took me a lot of tries but I'm proud to say I used my work day well ;)
Congrats! Looks like a nice setup you have, so many boulder towers :O
Well, I think I just about capped out what I could accomplish on this run without re-thinking my strategy. I bet I will revisit this and see if I can beat Mother++++ with a different layout sometime... Suffice to say, fun game!
This game is a masterpiece, i love this game so much.
I love this game!!
Awesome game! I spent more time playing this game than any other game I've played on ITCH! 😊
I can also say that the fullscreen option would be great if you implement.
My game is stuck on 3x UI mode and I really wanna play
does anyone know how to fix because I cant click anything
Ah sorry about that!
You can press Shift-0 to reset the UI scale to the default value. You can also use Shift-1/2/3 to set the scale to 1x 2x or 3x directly.
tysm
Great game! Pixelart and animations are wonderful!
Have a small question about animations. Are death animations generated or every enemy animated separately?
The death animation is procedural instead of a set sprite sheet. A script reads the pixels from the enemy image, and spawns a particle for each pixel into a standard Unity particle system. It was very helpful to save time!
Loved it!

Aha! Good catch, can't believe I never noticed that before. Will be fixed in the next release!
And I think this is also a bug: Currently each monster takes at most 1x Mesh damage at a time, even if they are literally in a mesh of Meshes.
Ah that is intentional actually! I found it tricky to balance otherwise, since the number of connections can grow so quickly, it ends up being super overpowered

Thanks lol.
Very fun game, beat it on hard. Boulder and stone towers are very good. Pretty well balanced overall though I think.
very good game! and the ending scene is soooo~ cute!
great work! I’d be happy to donate a theme song and some sound effects if you intend to keep working on it.
That would be awesome! I'll contact you for more details
awesome
Great game, very fun
Solid tower defense game with some quite cool towers. Beat it on normal!
Beat it on hard as well
That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed it!
would be nice to be able to see a preview of which enemy will transform into what.
i really like that towers can be moved. that's the thing i usually find most annoying with that kind of games.
i also really like that you have made a tower defense with a save and load function
Good Game!
I got stuck on 3x UI mode and I cant play
pls help me fix
